Cousin David's junior high baseball team played in the state finals this weekend in East Peoria. They won their game on Friday afternoon (which we weren't able to attend). We traveled over on Saturday morning to watch the next two games.
They ended up getting 4th place in state - fabulous finish to a great season-considering two of their starters were injured (one of them was cousin David!) He took a baseball to the left eye during practice this week and ended up with 12 stitches and a really pretty black eye. Needless to say, he didn't play in Friday's game, but he batted in both games on Saturday.
The boys got to ride in the firetruck around town and had another community pep rally to celebrate their accomplishments - way to go boys!
